Nathan Fillion and my director could play...
I told one of my instructors that he kind of looked like Nathan Fillion. He seemed rather intrigued and looked him up. “He’s kind of a good-looking guy…and he doesn’t have all this gray hair (pointing to his head).”
If they were brothers, Nathan would be the brawny, square-jawed, gorgeous-haired ladies’ man, and my director would be the brilliant, muscleless,...
There’s a guy that kind of looks like David Bowie. I kind of want to tell him, but I’m not sure how he’d take it, since he’s all about chamber music and “serious” literature. We’ll see.

Gah, why did I agree to help out with the fundraiser tomorrow? Well, technically today…we have to meet at 8:30am. Band is cancelled, so the only thing I would’ve had is the lesson I teach from about 11am-12:15pm.
If I get there late, too bad. I helped out last time, and I have a ton of work to do.
Wait—this means I need to wake up in about 4 hours!! Curses!

Assassins
Yep. I’m actually going to play Assassins. It was supposed to be only about 10 people, but our game kind of went public (stuff spreads in the music building, I guess), and now it’s over 20 people.
I have no idea who these other people are.
I also hope I don’t get eliminated because I might not be able to find it in my heart to “kill” somebody.

As sleepy as I was last night, I said my nightly prayer and asked God to help me out this week, especially with my clarinet stuff. I have so much to do, and today was the midterm jury. All we had to play was an etude and 10 scales of the instructor’s choice, but I had not practiced in TWO weeks.

It’s been decided.
Once I graduate from college, get my degree, and get a steady job, I will attend one of these feasts. Ultimate dinner-and-a-movie.
I would’ve been very tempted to go to this one, but it’s sold out, I have a buttload of schoolwork, and I’m a poor college student.

The Good News: I don’t have to be at the music building by 8am.
The Bad News: I have an assignment to do that was due who knows when, and I haven’t practiced for my lesson, which is in 12 hours. I also have another lesson on Tuesday, and most likely countless other assignments.

College and money stuff
I did tax stuff, and saw some sad numbers. I worked at a movie theater for a good chunk of the summer, only to have earned a paltry amount in total. It’s not hard work, but it definitely isn’t easy, especially if you’re on your feet all day and/or night. The hours were ridiculous, and I ain’t no minimun-wage spring chicken (as in, I’m not fresh out of high school).
