Just a dorky college student who lives for hugs and procrastinates way too much.
I love Journey. Steve Perry is my dream man. I'm pretty serious about that.

omg

I can think of weird things when I’m sleepy.

Once, I was lying in bed at night and I started thinking about the song Lady Luck by Journey.
FOR SOME REASON, it made complete sense to me that the song was about a guy who was in love with a prostitute.

The lyrics

Roll the dice, roll them twice
My, my, can you spare a dime?

meant that he gambles to try to win money to use on her, because he’s broke from all the money he’s spent.

…my lady’s so hard to find…

The lady, she’s gone
The lady, she’s gone!

This meant that she’s just a prostitute with no real attachment with him, but he doesn’t realize it, so he’s wondering where she is.

THE WEIRDEST STUFF MAKES SENSE TO ME WHEN I’M SLEEPY. I SHOULD NOT BE ALLOWED TO THINK AT NIGHT.

imageshewalkslikealady replied to your post: OMG OMG OMG I MET GREGG ROLIE!!!!

OMG TELL ME HOW IT HAPPENED! :D

Hehe, he performed here on the 23rd in Austin, TX with a blues guitarist, a drummer, and a bassist. I bought my ticket when I first found out about it.

The day came for the concert at a nice, intimate theater. I was probably about 20 feet from the piano!

The music was bluesy, pretty chill. They even played “Look Into the Future”, and a really cool, smooth version of “Don’t Be Cruel” (by Elvis Presley) that I really loved.

He had a small Q&A session in the middle of the concert, and being the dork that I am, I raised my hand. So there I was, standing with a microphone in my hand, while GREGG FREAKIN’ ROLIE is standing onstage, looking at me as I embarrassingly fumble through the words of my question. (I asked something about Dream, After Dream.)

After the concert, the ushers said he was going downstairs to meet everybody! I wasn’t sure if he was going to sign stuff, but I was going to take a record anyway, just in case. I FORGOT. Luckily, I had all my Journey CDs in my car, so I thought “Hmmm…which one shall I have him sign?”

I waited in the reasonable line for autographs, and I got to talk to the drummer Ron Wikso and the bassist “Sticky Lopez” (I forgot his real name). When I finally got to Gregg, I was again dumbfounded, BUT, I managed to get an autograph on my Infinity CD and an embarrassing picture with him!!!

I squealed in my car on the way home.

Oh yeah! I might’ve been the youngest one there…

I wonder if Journey fans back then were as crazy as us tumblr people.

If we were teenagers in the 80s and lived in the same town, we’d have sleepovers and swoon with each others’ Journey posters as we clutch our LPs to our chest after kissing them, then argue over who would marry which Journey member because we’re in love with all of them, then scream when we hear Journey play on the radio as we proceed to swoon over Steve’s voice, and it goes on and on and on and on…

So Gregg Rolie is playing in Austin on January 23rd.

$25 are the cheapest tickets. Strongly considering.

Only about 70 seats left?! I’d better decide soon.

EDIT:

Oh wait, NVM. There are plenty of seats available…

…but only six $25 tickets…

Look at NEAL!  He’s a freaking BABY!  Gregg’s looking possessed, and HOT, but I mean there’s like 60254925 people on that little ass stage and mad equipment and accessories and… STUFF.  And I’m like what the heez is he wearing?  I guess I can excuse him, it was 1971.

Yaaaay! Santana! Baby Neal! I love it hahahaha

Heeeyyyy yooooou guuuuuys!!!
I found Journey stuff at Half Price Books!
I’ve seen this much stuff at a store only one other time, but didn’t get it. When I went back, it was all gone. I wasn’t about to let that happen again!
I may not have seen Journey in concert this year, but I’m loving this haul!
Shame on me for not having all of their CDs, but I’m working on it! Poor college student, here…
BTW, the Jodi Picoult book is for my mom.
